Carolin wrote:Hi jude, it is simple

. Listen carefully to the sentence you want to replace in your original recording, and say it a couple of times trying to get the sound right in a similar way as you read it before
. Open a new audacity window.
. Record the sectence a couple of times until you are happy with it.
. Noiseclean and amplify if necessary.
. Open the original recirding in a second audacity window. You should now have two audacities open.
. Select the newly recorded sentence and click copy (there is a button for copying close to the little scissors in audacity).
. Go to the original recording, select the sentence you want to replace and click paste (button next to copy)
. Listen to your result to make sure it worked.
. Voila :)

There are also other ways of accomplishing this but this way is easiest to explain :)

thank you.... wish me luck!!!! xxxx

Jude, if this is your first attempt, I can only say, congrats, it's excellent. I cannot detect much of a discrepancy in sound quality. You should have heard MY first attempts  No, this really is perfect.

And see, it's good now you learnt how to edit. No more recording the entire text when you have one error ;) Good job.

It's PL ok now, thanks

Carolin, I think I may as well stay on as DPL here :) The poems are rather short and fun to listen to.

thank you Hilary, this is beautifully corrected, one wouldn't hear a difference in sound

I take it you only corrected that one sentence ? You did not re-record the whole poem, right ? :hmm: Because I only just Spot PLed, I did not listen to it all again.

This is PL ok . Hopefully I'll hear more from you :)

Namaste Kitty,

Yes, I only cut out and pasted in the one part that needed correcting along with removing the extra disclaimer at the beginning of the reading. Thank you so much for your encouragement!!! I really appreciate it. I definitely plan on contributing more readings to librivox--it's just so much fun and great practice for me as I try to kick off my voiceover "career". I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Warm wishes,
Hilary

ah-hahaha, this one was mightily funny. To think that all the dinner went into the sea. And your reading even made it funnier. How could you read this without bursting out laughing ?

Well, you will be happy to hear, it's PL ok on the first go. :) Great job !
