I finished my recording for section 21 (it's 10 minutes, 21 seconds long). This is my first recording, so please let me know if this one needs to be redone for any reason or if there's anything I can improve upon for next time ^^ I read the Newbie Recording page a bunch of times and did my best to follow all the rules. Thanks :)

Congratulations and well done on your first recording, Jenna! You sound great  -- and you sound like you are enjoying it, too!
There is one thing to fix in section 21:
the volume is a bit soft, around 80 dB. Please amplify by about 9. If you use Audacity and would like more detailed pointers, please let me know. Then save with the same file name, upload, and post again in this thread.
Thank you!

Hi Kathrine. Here is Section 1. If there is anything at all, even the most slightest issue with any part of this recording, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this project and feel honored to be able to read the introduction and foreword. However, I am still learning and welcome any suggestions, no matter how slight.

Thanks again for allowing me to participate. If you find that you need me to claim any further sections, please let me know.

Section 1, length is 5:51

Awesome, thank you so much, Kathrine! :9: I'm glad it came out well. Yes, if you could go be me some more details on how to adjust the amplification with Audacity I'd appreciate it a lot :) And then I'll get the fixed version uploaded asap.

Sure thing! Ok, my Audacity is probably an older version than yours, but I think amplification works pretty much the same. This is what you do:
-select the whole recording
-click Effect > Amplify
-use the setting Amplification 9 dB. (You don't want to check the box where it says Allow Clipping. If you ever, in future recordings, need to amplify more than Audacity lets you, without checking this box, you'll want to do something else first, namely compress the recording. But that is not necessary for this one.)
-click OK.

You should be able to see the blue squiggles in the window reach higher and lower after you have done it. Then save etc :)

Thanks for the instructions, Katherine :) I amplified the volume and re-uploaded the file (time is still 10:21 for section 21). Here's the link:

Well read section 1, Debbie!
Please, could you add "End of section 1" at the end of the recording? Thanks!
