There is no author given. How should I adapt the intro? Is there a standard script for an anonymous or uncredited newspaper/magazine piece? Do you mention the pub where it appeared?

Thanks!
Hi ColleenMc, We'll be glad to welcome your contribution to the nonfiction collection!. :) The way to introduce an anonymous selection of this sort would be as follows:

"[Title of the article], by [anonymous] from the Irish Penny Journal of 1840." "This is a Librivox recording. All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit Librivox.org"

For the file: you would use "anonymous" as the author, but you would not need to mention the name of the journal. Thus:

snf049_titleofwork_anonymous_yourinitials_128kb.mp3

If you have any more questions, feel free to post them.

Hi Colleen, Thanks for this amusing bit on bustles! :) File name, specs all look good. Whoever the anonymous author was, he/she had a bit of deviltry in their sense of humor--the scene with the horse in particular! I enjoyed listening. Now, Craig, our dedicated proof listener, will PL your read for you.

I certainly hope you will make many more contributions to collections at LibriVox.

Thanks Sue! I have a Wordpad page of other NF pieces to possibly do for future collections so you will probably be hearing from me again!

I was out with my camera and decided to take a closer look at some of the local tent caterpillars...

Thanks for A Short Chapter on Bustles Colleen :D

Well read  only one error

5:49 Accordingly, having to accompany her and my intended wife to a ball, I stole into my sister’s room in the course of the evening before she went into it to dress, and pouncing upon her hated bustle, which lay on her toilet table, I inflicted a cut on it with my penknife, and retired.

Forgot to read: before she went into it to dress

ARGH! I can't believe I listened to the whole thing and had the text at hand as I did so and missed that I forgot a whole phrase! I will definitely fix it but will be a few days because I'm going out of town tomorrow and coming back Thursday so it will likely be Friday or the weekend before I can fix and resubmit. If that's too long and you want to get the volume out, feel free to hold it for the next one!

Hi Million Moments, It should be evident that I'm enjoying the Bio Diversity Library which you suggested! :) My latest cell-phone camera will magnify up to 8x, which has started me taking nature close-ups on my morning walks,, which has certainly enlivened the walks. I don't think the tent caterpillars I saw were American tent caterpillars, though I am familiar with the ones with the blue spots. These were light yellow with black spots and were feeding, it looked to me, on wild cherry. What sort of startled me was I saw two catepillars just peaking their heads over the edge of a leaf they were nibbling on, and I thought "that would make a good picture." When I moved closer, they ducked back behind their leaf, and I had one of those probably anthropomorphizing moments--that I'd actually had a communicative moment with the caterpillars... I f you're curious, I posted that picture to my pinterest page ( since our Librivox forum doesn't allow pictures.)

Those I believe are the caterpillars of one of the ermine moths, but I could not tell you which species exactly. Later in the season the tree may become entirely covered in webbing. They often make the news as they move off trees and also can cover cars and pavements with their webs! Professor Simon Leather has written a blog about them: https://simonleather.wordpress.com/2013/03/05/silk-not-just-a-spider-thing/

I have loads of things marked to record for the collection from Biodiversity Heritage Library! Hoping to do them weekend after next when I have the place to myself.

Thanks for the citation to the "silk not just a spider thing" wordpress site! :) Most interesting! At this point my caterpillars have abandoned their webs, and it did occur to me yesterday to find out how the “silk" strands that anchored their webs to the branches compared in strength to spider web silk. I was really surprised how much more strong and resilient the caterpillar "silk" was. I’m afraid, however, that my investigation, netted me some very bemused looks from the dog walkers and joggers who passed me by…
