Ok, no rush :) I'm gonna need a little practice before I do the whole thing anyway as well as finding the right kind of tea/water combo to keep my throat clear ;)

A minor quibble, the end silence should be only 5s long. Nice read.

Ok- I better give you section 8 or I'm just going to keep recording it over and over again to get it "right".... which I might do anyway. But for now, here is a finished reading:

15:47-15:48 delete extraneous sound
Volume is low (83.9dB) and needs to be amplified by 4-5dB.
Silence at file end should be 5s long.
File is in stereo and needs to be exported in mono after amplification (Check "Edit/Preferences/Devices" in Audacity to see if recording is set to mono not stereo). The "stereo to mono" option under Tracks in Audacity can be used for tracks already recorded.

Sorry about that, I misread the instructions! Here it is with only 5s at the end.

I have amplified, cut out the cough and added the 5 seconds. The only thing I'm not sure how to fix is the Stereo/Mono because I checked my settings and it already says it's in Mono. I am re-exporting it and will post as soon as I can. Hopefully it will actually be in Mono this time.

It seems that my converter was the issue. It kept changing my mono file (from apple) into a stereo mp3.

here is the new file for section 8:

let me know if I need to increase the volume any more. Thanks :)

File is 136kbps not 128kbps. Will need to export as 128kbps.
I noticed that the opening silence is longer than 1s so that could be shortened as well.

The volume is fine but clipping is preventing more amplification. If you are using Audacity there are videos that I can direct you to that will show you how to "fix the clips."
