P.S. Not a tough search.

We never really grow up, we just learn how to act in public.

Thanks, kalamareader. This was really helpful! This poem might be better for the fortnightly poetry recordings, given its length. Also, where do you find the weekly/fortnightly poem collections for general listening on the librivox website?

I'll show you how to find it
You go to the LV catalogue
Use the advanced search
go down to the category/genre
look down the dropdown to Poetry (multi version- weekly and fortnightly poetry)
and click on search
It's a big list

WHITE BIRD OF LOVE
Little white bird of the summer sky,
Silver against the golden sun,
Over the green of the hills you fly,
You and the sweet, wild air are one.
Glorious sights are in that far place
Reached by your daisy-petal wing,
Rose-colored meteors dive through space,
Stars made of molten music sing.
Still, though your quivering eager flight
Reaches the groves by Heaven town,
Where all the angels cry out, “Alight!
Stop, little bird, come down, come down!”
Careless you speed over fields of stars,
Darting through Heaven swift and free;
Nothing your arrowy passage bars
Back to the earth and back to me.
Here in the orchard of dream-fruit fair
Out of my dreams is built your nest.
Blossoming dreams all the branches bear,
Fit for my silver dream-bird’s rest.
Here, since they love you, the young stars shine,
Through the white petals come their beams.
Little white love-laden bird of mine,
Let them shine on you through my dreams.

THE LOVERS
by C. J. Dennis
One idle hour she sought to see
Whose image 'twas he cherished so
(All fondly certain whose 'twould be),
And found — a girl she did not know.
A trusting maiden's modest face,
All innocence and purity.
"What nun is this that fills my place?
Alas, he loves me not!" sighed she.
"Nay, daughter, let no foolish fears
Your trust in his devotion mar,"
Her mother said. "Come, dry your tears;
That is the girl he thinks you are."
All fondly curious with love —
(Half guessing what he would lay bare)
He rifled her heart's treasure-trove,
And found -- a stranger's image there.
"This is the man she loves!" said he,
And, searching in the noble face,
Read high resolve and constancy.
"This saint," he cried, "usurps my place!"
"Nay," spake his friend. "Your anger cool;
Gaze on that godlike face once more:
And then be satisfied, O fool;
That is the man she takes you for."

A possible weekly poem?
GAYLY SOUNDS THE CASTANET.
(MALTESE AIR.)
Gayly sounds the castanet,
Beating time to bounding feet,
When, after daylight's golden set,
Maids and youths by moonlight meet.
Oh, then, how sweet to move
Thro' all that maze of mirth,
Led by light from eyes we love
Beyond all eyes on earth.
Then, the joyous banquet spread
On the cool and fragrant ground,
With heaven's bright sparklers overhead,
And still brighter sparkling round.
Oh, then, how sweet to say
Into some loved one's ear,
Thoughts reserved thro' many a day
To be thus whispered here.
When the dance and feast are done,
Arm in arm as home we stray,
How sweet to see the dawning sun
O'er her cheek's warm blushes play!
Then, too, the farewell kiss—
The words, whose parting tone
Lingers still in dreams of bliss,
That haunt young hearts alone.

I has been a long time since I co-ordinated a weekly poem.
How about the following gem:
One Lovely Name
By Walter Savage Landor (1775 - 1864)
ONE lovely name adorns my song,
And, dwelling in the heart,
Forever falters at the tongue,
And trembles to depart.

I can BC the poem To My Son, Aged Three Years and Five Months to be this fortnight’s poem, if you don’t have anything else planned.
