Hi erin, thanks for your response.

Section 41 has in the meantime been claimed and assigned to another reader. What we need you to do now is to focus on completing your one minute test. Once you have the test complete and someone has given you an ok, you can revisit this project and claim one of the sections that are then still open. Thank you :)

Hi,
I'll read sections 70, 88 & 89 if that's alright.

It'll be my first go, so can you name me as davidmcl in the librivox catalogue.

Thanks,

David

Hi,
Is there anyway you want me to separate the prose introduction from the actual poem in the sections I am recording.
And also is there a way to do the quotations at the beginning?

Hi David -

I presume you are asking about Section 70 and 89? When I do the readings I just separate them by silence. So for Section 70 - I would read To the editor... pause. My Dear Sir - the following Ode... all the way to cabbage sprout. Then pause. Then the Quoted lines, pause and then continue onward with the next para like that. Does this make sense? If not please let me know.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE ATHENÆUM.

MY DEAR SIR—The following Ode was written anticipating the tone of some strictures on my writings by the gentleman to whom it is addressed. I have not seen his book; but I know by hearsay that some of my verses are characterized as "profaneness and ribaldry"—citing, in proof, the description of a certain sow, from whose jaw a cabbage sprout
"Protruded, as the dove so staunch
For peace supports an olive branch."

david, there is no one standard way of reading such a section, but i think lyndas explanation is very good. in principle, you have some freedom as to how to read it, but double check with us if you are unsure :)

Hi! Here are my recordings for today -

Please note that Section 106 and 113 contain 2 poems as each had a small poem that was not listed in the MW. I included them in the poem that was after them in the list if anyone is looking for them.
