[complete bio + book history] Gutenberg and printing - ke
Thank you for claiming! I had a look at the chapter -- I suggest just reading the text and skipping the picture captions. Although the text directly refers to the pictures, I think it makes sense without trying to explain the pictures in any way. If listeners are super curious, they'll probably look up the book, anyway

Yes you may! Welcome to librivox Before you embark on recording this chapter, please do a 1 minute test to make sure that your technical settings are correct. Also, what name would you like to use in the catalog? It can be your forum name, your real name, or something different altogether

Thank you!
Ok, did the test and posted for listening. Hopefully not too much tweaking will be needed with the setup. (fingers crossed)
Just my real name I think, thanks tho as I had not given it any thought.
Will read through the chapter to familiarize myself with the writing while I wait.
Many thanks

Okies, no rush. I can't fix it for a few days anyhow.
Sure hope there's not much to fix. Lol

Great reading in section 25, Brenda! I wish my first recording sounded this smooth
Only one PL note:
the volume is a little bit soft (around 83dB). Please amplify by 6. Just let me know if you'd like more detailed instructions for how to do that. Save with the same filename, upload again, and post again in this thread when you are ready. (Take your time, there is no rush.)
This is not something I think you need to fix, but just information for future reference. At 4:58 you start a sentence where it sounds like you are wondering about whether what you are reading is correct ("Rather, must we not infer..."). I think you should just keep it the way it is in this recording. When I record, and come to sentences like that and I notice that I'm hesitating while I read, I just read it once more. That way, I can edit out the version that sounds less smooth afterwards.
But please rest assured, you did a wonderful job in this chapter!
I'm looking forward to hearing you again

Yay!
Thank you for your advice. Good point to treat hesitation just like an error. I was rather stumped when I heard it on playback as I had not repeated the sentence, so was unsure just how to fix that. So much to learn.
Just had some time tonight so...
