Thanks, Phil, for coordinating such a fun book! Definitely a good one to get me started!
Thanks you. Petunia the Perky LibriVox Penguin(a volunteer)Imagewill put this into the Magic Window for proof listening. Yeah, I like the way Garis writes and makes it fun to read.

I have enjoyed recording these stories, but how can I tell before I claim a section
whether a book has been recorded by Librivox before this? I would rather contribute
my voice (and time) to a completely new project. If I search the catalog, would that tell me?

Looks like a yes, if you know exactly what to look for. Currently, searching the title of this book in the catalog shows only the version we're working on now. The helpful bit of information is that it's listed as "Version 2".
Anyone looking for the completed work apparently needs to click "Uncle Wiggily Stories >", which brings up a list of all completed works in the series. When searching for a work that isn't in a series, that extra click wouldn't be necessary.

Well that is certainly an understandable feeling. Doing a search of the exact title in our catalog will 'probably' show if it already has a completed version. For some reason this title only shows the current version and has it as 'version two' but does not show the first one. The search function is not always a perfect thing and the slightest difference can not find what you want. Searching for the author will bring up all the books we have by them in our catalog and it is much more accurate in my experience. I always search by author when starting a search. With that said, let me apologize for not announcing in the first post that this book was already in the catalog and you would not need to do any searches. That would have eliminated the problem. I'll try to do it for future projects.

When you have to cut a section out, it is there something one can do to prevent that little clip sound?

Thank you Jim!!

Good question. After selecting what is to be cut but before cutting, hit the Z key. This causes the cut to be at a zero point in the waveform and should prevent the click.

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.

Nope. Just a "z". I don't know if case counts -I always use lowercase because one fewer key to press.
