Err... I'm starting to listen to this, and it sounded very familiar. Amulli09 read it, section 7.

Shall I put it in as "version 2" or do you want to drop it? :hmm:

I've only listened to the first 1:32 so far.

Ah, I searched for it but didn't see it for some reason :? Sorry about that. I'll drop it from here. I could offer it to another collection. Would it fit in non-fiction, do you think?

Yes, I think it would do well in the nonfiction collection. You'll have to change the intro, of course. :)

King's Cutters & Smugglers:

26:54-26:57 - Pause and repeat: "Cruiser" pause "Cruiser"

29:24 - skip in the recording: "and if their com...negligent of duty"

36:47 - long pause: "14 shillings... .. 3 and a half pennies"

37:04-37:10 - pauses in here: "31 pounds, 10 shillings, 6 and a quarter pennies". Listen and see if you want to tighten it up a bit.

42:11 - skip: "to prevent the station...arded"
Thank you. Not sure how those skips happened. I must have somehow done that in editing. Anyway here is the corrected version. Note each correction point is now about 10 seconds earlier because of my tightened up removed bits. Also didn't use a comma in king's in the link because I noticed that you corrected that! Note also that I repeat "cruiser" twice because that is the name of the ship. It's called Cruiser and I am listing each ship as cruiser the category. But I agree about the gap. So I tightened the gap and made one cruiser a bit lower so they were distinct.

Length also slightly shorter: 46:04

I guess that I should repeat the title again: King's Cutters and Smugglers; Chapter 2: The Earliest Smugglers. Author: E.Keble Chatterton

Thank you

Ah, I didn't catch that the cutter's name was Cutter. That isn't confusing at all.

I got another Sweet Seventeen to atone for my gaffe, unless this is another gaffe...

Sweet Seventeen, by James Howell.

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/17th_sweetseventeen_howell_128kb.mp3 1:32

https://archive.org/details/ataleseasonnets00howegoog/page/n182/mode/2up

I couldn't find dates or info for the author other than that he was "of Brighton, Sussex". ( https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=bzRDJeN4KxQC&pg=PA235#v=onepage&q&f=false )
Not the James Howell already in the catalogue, I think.

I'm working on section 17 of book 3 of volume one, the secret doctrine, by Helena Blavatsky. It's the final section of the book and of the volume. (We're doing book 2 collaboratively now, readers wanted!)

I note the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_17_(novel)
but cannot find a clearly PD version of it. Even to read just the introduction would be fun.

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.

There's a HathiTrust link to that book in the Wikipedia article: https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/000781052

The scan is from 1926, so it's PD.

This would be a great dramatic project. Should I PM Todd ? or put it in suggestions?
