So, rooting around in a kitchen drawer recently, I found (behind the knives and extra packets of ketchup from a vacation two year ago) another sci-fi short story. True story!

Here it is:

Progress Report, by Alex Apostolides and Mark Clifton

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf086_progresreport_apostolides_ph_128kb.mp3 (37:29)

Project Gutenberg: https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/36867

read by Paul Hampton

I see there's a typo in the filename, should I fix and resend?

Hi Paul,
It must have been waiting for you to find it for this collection. :)
You don't need to update the title. I will be adjusting them when they are cataloged.
Thanks for your story! I will PL soon.

As a young man, I read every Science Fiction book I could get my hands on. One of my favorite authors (among many) was Fritz Leiber. Here's my offering of one of his short works:

"What's He Doing In There?" by Fritz Leiber (1910-1992)

My second offering is another of the early SF writers; Lester Del Rey. If I recall, he was also one of the contributors to "Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction".
Isaac Azimov had a regular science column in the magazine. In any event, here's Del Rey's short story: "Dead Ringer".......

Hi there! Finally finding some time to do some more recording. I would like to submit:

"Me, Myself and I" by William Tenn (writing as Kenneth Putnam)

Thanks Amy. I meant to ask, the story is listed on Project Gutenberg as being by William Tenn but on the page with the story text the author is given as Kenneth Putman, so I gave the author as "by William Tenn, writing as Kenneth Putman". I assume that was the right way to do it?

I checked in ISFDB which confirmed that Kenneth Putnam is a alternate name for William Tenn so I assume that is all correct.

Hi Barry,
That isn't necessary, but it is okay. He was Philip Klass writing under the names William Tenn and Kenneth Putnam, as well as his own.
Some of them have more than five pseudonyms. It's annoying really.
Thanks,
Amy
