Hi! I read Cockyloo by Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888)
https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw049_cockyloo_eg_128kb.mp3
Source Text: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/7425/7425-h/7425-h.htm
14 minutes, 5 seconds
I would like my name in the catalogue to appear as Emily Grace.

Thank you!

Emily

Oh, and I have a question. I ended this recording by saying. "read by Ginger47." If I use my name (Emily Grace) in the catalog, should I also use that name at the end of my recordings, rather than my user name? I didn't think about that when I made this recording.

Hi Emily,

Lovely job! There is only one minor thing that needs to be fixed. There are five seconds of silence at the beginning of the file, and we only need no more than 1. If you could snip some off and reupload, that would be great!

You can use whatever name you would like in the recordings (or none at all, if you prefer)!

Thank you, Maria! Here is the new file, after taking out the beginning silence. I also removed my username at the end. I don't have time to record the new "read by..." today, so I'll just leave it out of this one, and in the future I think I'll use my name. It's now 13 minutes, 57 seconds.

Thank you, Algy! Everything is fine, except Kobayashi Eitaku is the illustrator, not the author. The author is just listed as "anonymous".

Hi,

You did a lovely job! However, there are some things that need to be fixed.

First, these are two separate stories, so they will need to be two separate files, each with their own intros and outros.
It is easy to split them. You will just need to copy and paste one of the stories into another Audacity file.

Also, you have the first story twice in the file. The first one ends at 8:50 and the second one at 17:42. :-) Here is the wording of the intros and outros from the first post. Just change/add in the title and author where they need to go.
At the BEGINNING Say: "[Title of Work], by [Author Name]" "This is a Librivox recording. All Librivox Recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit Librivox.org"

At the END, say: "End of [Title], by [Author Name]"
If you wish, you may also say: "Read by...your name."

Please leave 5 seconds of silence at the end of your recording or 10 seconds if longer than 30 minutes.
There are also some technical issues. The bit rate is incorrect. It needs to be 128kbps. The file is in stereo, and it needs to be in Mono. Also, the volume is a bit on the quiet side.

You have a reply to your rest file that explains how to fix these issues. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=92896&p=2052354#p2052354

When you reupload the files, please follow this naming scheme:
• File Name: Put file name all in lowercase, and the title all in one word (no leading articles i.e. the, a, an, and NO SPACES): csw049_shorttitleinoneword_readersinitials_128kb.mp3,
e.g. csw049_scarletgiantbean_ge_128kb.mp3
You did a really great job on the reading! All these things might look like a lot, but they can easily be fixed. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask. :D
