Rosyburkholder wrote: December 7th, 2021, 12:06 pm Hi, may I please have 16, The flight of the Gulls, and 51, Indian Summer?
I am new to Librivox and have submitted a 1 minute test. I am waiting for feedback and will record these once I have the OK.
I’d like my name to appear as Kaye Burke, please.
Hi Kaye
Welcome to Librivox. :D
I have assigned sections 16 & 51 to you. Please wait for the OK on your 1-minute test before you record them.
I have also created your Reader Page which will list all your recordings. You can see this by clicking on your name in the Magic Window.
Thanks lots! Will wait to record til I get the OK— Hopefully soon!

Hi Heather

Nice recording, well done :)
PL Notes
All the technical specs are correct and the text is also correct.
But there are a few minor problems:
The silence at the beginning should be 0.5-1 second and the silence at the end should be 5 seconds. Please correct these and re-upload with the same filename.
The filename that you post should include the .mp3 suffix
Please include the duration of the recording in MM:SS when you post a recording.
These are only minor problems but it is best you get them right for this and future recordings

Here is my first piece! The Flight of the Gulls 01:41 https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/lakelyrics_16_campbell_128kb.mp3

Also: Indian Summer 00:53 https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/lakelyrics_75_campbell_128kb.mp3

These are my first recordings since my test got approved, so don’t spare the criticism! I’ve got a lot to learn.

Hi Kaye

Nice recordings, well done :)
PL Notes for both poems
All the technical specs are correct and the text of both poems is also correct.

But there are a few minor problems:

The filename for "Indian Summer" is incorrect, the section number should be 51 rather than 75. Please correct this when you re-upload.
The silence at the beginning of recordings should be 0.5 to 1 second and the silence at the end should be 5 seconds. Please correct these and re-upload both poems with the correct filenames.

Both recordings have some background noise. It is not unacceptable here but for future recordings you may want to ensure that there are no background noises while you are recording. Also, in future, you may want to run Noise Cleaning on your recordings before submitting them. A helpful tutorial on noise cleaning is available here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFSg9o37HMw

These are only minor problems but it is best you get them right for these and future recordings
