thank you, Alan, another PL ok section :) I found it alarming that they would not try to help that woman who jumped into the water, but simply went home to relate the story. Were they so sure it was an apparition ?

Here is the edited file with the ending as it should've been. The background is still @ 26.4 - I did not wish to mess with the sound so I left it.
the background noise is not disturbing at all, you don't have to run another round of noise-cleaning. The disclaimer is perfectly inserted and now PL ok. :) Thanks, April

Here is Ch149:

Duration: 11m 29s

Hopefully it's not as 🤬 as last time! (it's only 8pm so we should be fine)

Many thanks,
David

[If there are any outstanding Scottish tales please point me in their direction.]

Hello!

Here is Section 89:

https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/hauntedhomes_089_ingram_128kb.mp3 (4:58)

Being a Princess Diana fan, I was hoping I might learn something spooky about her Althorp heritage. Nothing too spooky here... just a very zealous servant who continued his duties after his death!

Cheers, Janice

the obvious ones I know from Scotland are Glamis Castle (115) of Macbeth fame, and Perth (128), those two are still open.

And wow...a ghostly army  wouldn't have wanted to see those passing by. Another cool section, wonderfully read. Thanks !

I have a few small notes still, mostly of a formal kind though:

> at 0:06: part of the intro missing: "this is a Librivox recording"

> at 0:51: to introduce a footnote, please say "Footnote", followed by the text of the footnote and at the end "End of Footnote"

> at 2:11: "desirous as I am to oblige Lady – and you" – for this "dash" we usually either say nothing at all, just leaving a very short pause, or either say "Blank". But I wouldn't say "name redacted" here.

The rest was perfect.

wow, creepy. And this guy simply goes back to sleep while he thinks that a groom is rummaging about in his dressing room  I couldn't have slept until he left my room !

Excellent story, excellently narrated and PL ok right away. Thank you, Janice.

Thank you, Sonia! I enjoyed reading the story. I guess playing billiards till 2am really tuckered Mr. Drury out. Have a lovely day. Janice

Good afternoon, Sonia!

I've uploaded Section 144: Bath

https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/hauntedhomes_144_ingram_128kb.mp3 (6:51)

This section has a few more chilling details than my last one... blood of a murdered wife that keeps surfacing in hearth stones, and a ghost "devoid of eyes." Entertaining read!

Cheers, Janice
