2min 37s

the full title of the poem should be "why she can't sign the petition to reduce the working day to 8 hours"

Hard to tell whether any given recording conveys that meaning successfully

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.

Thank you Lakshmi, good reading, but we need 5 seconds of silence at the end, I see only 1.5 in your file. Could you please add the extra and upload it? (same filename) Thanks.

sorry, just me, no other source. I should refrain from all but the clinical, maybe!

Here's my attempt, still pretty new to this
Thank you Marcus, a few notes...
- the file is still in stereo, we need a mono file
- the bitrate is 88 kbps (variable), we need 128 kbps (constant)
- your volume is low at 85 dB. You should aim for your waveforms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:

Image

You can check your volume using our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker You will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB (87-91 is OK) (all the other tech specs are there also)

Please make the corrections and upload using the same filename. Thanks.
