Hello (in alphabetical order) Alix and Rapunzelina,
I have something to spook you! Rapunzelina, this fella needs to be added to the catalogue (I'll leave you in peace now!). Alix, this is taken from a longer work, it begins on page 203.
The Vampire of Croglin Grange by Augustus Hare (1834-1903)
Text: https://archive.org/details/storyofmylife04hareuoft/page/202/mode/2up
Duration: 11.20
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor051_vampirecroglingrange_hare_el_128kb.mp3
Augustus Hare was a British biographer and travel writer.

I'm not sure this is helpful, but the legend has its own wiki page:

Thank you, Dale and Erin! In this collection we get quite a few new authors, so I usually add them all together at the end
And...in great newbie fashion....here's the URL:

Hello, PK! Welcome here! Your recording setup is ready! Your tech specs are correct, and your sound is nice and clear. Optionally you could try Noise Reduction if you're using Audacity, and see if it sounds better enough to use it in your recordings. But it's OK to have some white noise in the background, that's why noise reduction is optional.
Have fun recording!!

Thank you for your recording, Kevin! It's now in the Magic Window, Ready for PL! For some reason I am getting a security warning when trying to access the gutenberg.ca link, so let's go with gutenberg.org https://gutenberg.org/files/8486/8486-h/8486-h.htm#chap04kromaine wrote: ↑April 16th, 2021, 4:31 am Hi,

Ah! Sorry about the broken link. Interestingly when I tested it again just now I got the same warning, so, like you say we'll go with yours. It looks in all essence the same text.Rapunzelina wrote: ↑April 16th, 2021, 5:09 amThank you for your recording, Kevin! It's now in the Magic Window, Ready for PL! A few PL notes:
This is a little quiet again at 85.2
quiet - 85.2
3.36 - you're missing 'upon' after 'he was really treading'
3.58 - I hear frantically for fanatically
6.14 - you've got unfortunately for fortunately
Great stuff!Grothmann wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 11:15 am Hi:

Again, a couple of edits:
3.51 - silently for slightly
4.39 - stumble and repeated sentence for 'now the bus was fairly swallowed', but it should also be 'swallowing' rather than 'swallowed up'
Last Cigarette is now PL ok as well
Thanks!
Will hopefully have some more time over the weekend to work through some more

Perfect! Thank you for the feedback. I'll definitely use the Noise Reduction for the next recording. =)Rapunzelina wrote: ↑April 16th, 2021, 5:00 amHello, PK! Welcome here!
