Greetings all,

I love reading and I love talk radio/podcasts...being able to hear people talk without having to actually interact with too many people, lol. Outside of reading and harboring a dream of being the voice that someone else listens to, I enjoy genealogy, history, travel, cooking, and music.

I can't wait to get started!

Hi and a big Welcome to LibriVox! Your voice will indeed be listened to so jump in. I've made a little video to welcome people; It has some basic info about us that I thought might be helpful to know right at the start. In any case ask lots of questions, we are a helpful bunch here and you will fit right in. https://youtu.be/mwtn_2d3_qs
Oh and Maria, our LibriVox pickle, can hardly contain her excitement Image

You might like to join the LibriVox Beginners Group on Zoom. This is something we have just started this year and if you are into that sort of thing, it might be fun to drop in and say hi. Let's talk about you, LibriVox and books!
First Mondays at 11 am and 11 pm Central time. JUne 6th next month!

Hi,
I live in North Carolina. Marshall, about 20 miles north-west of Asheville. I can't wait to get started either but I hope I don't make too many mistakes. I love to read to my 7-year-old daughter. She likes Narnia and the Neverending Story. She has heard it at least twenty times on Audible. I have been told my English accent will be loved, so here I am!

I am a big fan of accents! We read every night to our kids growing up, which I miss. At the same time, I listened to Larry King's overnight radio show when I was in high school, so I also liked listening to others. Enjoy!

Ha. Mistakes are a big part of recording Godfrey and everybody, I mean everybody, makes lots while recording. The wonderful thing is that mispronouncing a word 8 times in a row does not matter as long as you get one correct one in there eventually. The bad ones are just cut out. so have fun and make mistaikdes on LibriVox. We love 'em :D
