Hello Sarah, and you are very welcome to librivox, even if you do come from deepest darkest Hampshire :0)

I'm a retired engineer living in Cambridge UK.
I love librivox because participating has caused me to read works that I wouldn't normally touch (e.g. poetry).
And I've enjoyed playing character parts in dramatic readings.
Once you've passed your 1-minute test (https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test), jump into the forums and have fun!

Regards & see you around!

Welcome to LibriVox, Sarah!! I see you passed your one-minute test, so congrats!

If you are interested in starting out reading certain genres, there is a post here that has links to projects that are currently looking for readers sorted by genre. I think there is a fantasy and horror genre link in there!

I look forward to hopefully hearing some of your recordings soon!

Well, it got cold here again, didn't it Sarah? But, the "February thaw" should pick up again in a few days.
I live in Pittsfield, about 30 min east of Concord. Beautiful six-acres of a mountain side with plenty of peace and quiet. That makes it good for recording, but only in the evenings after everyone else in the household is asleep.

LibriVox has been a fantastic experience, and I hope you will also enjoy it.
I look forward to hearing your recordings.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Hi Sarah and welcome to Librivox

Did you know there is a Beginners LibriVox Zoom Session MONDAY, MARCH 7, 11 AM AND 11 PM CENTRAL TIME ??
Yep! It is totally optional of course, just something we thought some of you might find fun to do. Drop in, say hi to either or both sessions if even for a minute.

Our 'topic' (ha) will be STUFF I WANT TO RECORD or ask anything you want about proof listening or whatever, we love all questions! Don't promise great answers but we will try.
