Hello everyone! I am new to LibriVox, and so glad to be here to learn and contribute as a reader! I am a registered nurse, and am transitioning out of healthcare after 30 years. I want to pursue other passions, and reading is definitely one of them! I have always been a bookworm, and as a child my best memories of Christmas gifts involved getting new books. Now, I listen to audiobooks every day while walking my dog, and doing house and yard work. I usually have at least one or two print books going at a time, too. There is so much to learn on the tech side of reading and recording, and I think that will be my biggest challenge. But I see there are tons of links with helpful tips. Are there any tips for preparing your voice, choosing what work is best for you to read, that kind of thing?

Welcome MaryAnne. You (yes YOU!) are invited to the BEGINNERS ZOOM LIVRIVOX GROUP, Monday, Jan 3, 2022. Join in either or both of two sessions and talk with other LibriVox old timers and newbies; ask questions, and chit chat. Tell us about yourself and your pets. First Monday of the month. You can ask about what to read and things like that.

11 am & 11 pm Central time USA. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8840814632

I've made a little video to welcome people; It has some basic info about us that I thought might be helpful to know right at the start. In any case ask lots of questions, we are a helpful bunch here and you will fit right in. https://youtu.be/mwtn_2d3_qs
