HELLO!! My name is Nicole. I'm a 40 year old mom of 2 boys, 1 is 14 & the other is 9. I am new to the whole audio recording scene. I have always had an interest in acting & singing but I have stage freight when in front of an audience :( I have always loved reading to my kids and giving the characters personality and voice. So since I lost my job, I just had the wild idea to look into how people get into voicing audiobooks. So here I am! I am excited to learn the ropes & meet people & get my foot in the door!!

Hi Nicole! Welcome to LibriVox!

You may want to start at: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

Then you can submit your 1 minute test. Well, not really a test. Just a check up.

https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test

It all looks a bit daunting. But we are here to get you recording! It sounds like fiction and dramatic works and kids books is your passion; we have endless projects of those that need people to record!

Welcome Nicole. You (yes YOU!) are invited to the BEGINNERS ZOOM LIVRIVOX GROUP, Monday, Jan 3, 2022. Join in either or both of two sessions and talk with other LibriVox old timers and newbies; ask questions, and chit chat. Tell us about yourself and your pets. First Monday of the month so January 3rd. We will gladly share what we know about voice over and recording.

11 am & 11 pm Central time USA. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8840814632

I've made a little video to welcome people; It has some basic info about us that I thought might be helpful to know right at the start. In any case ask lots of questions, we are a helpful bunch here and you will fit right in. https://youtu.be/mwtn_2d3_qs
Oh and Maria, our LibriVox pickle, can hardly contain her excitement Image

Nicole, are you sure that you uploaded a 1 minute test? I cannot see it on the listeners wanted thread. You might not have copied the link and posted it there?
