Hello Everyone,

My name is Matthew Morrison. I’m a Public Services Librarian with Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas.

I discovered LibriVox recently as it was presented as an opportunity to earn service hours for the college as part of our Big Week of Service event and it seemed a natural fit for my talents. Indeed, it looks like something I would enjoy being part of even after satisfying my employers' requirements.

Beyond being a librarian, I’m also an amateur actor who earned my BFA in Theater Arts Performance. I’ve often been told I have a good, clear voice and should be on the radio, but time and inclination found me devoting my life to public library service and after school programs before I made my way back to academia. When I’m not acting as my library’s collection development specialist or offering research assistance, I enjoy games and movies. In the past year, I’ve begun co-hosting a weekly “bad movie night” with a colleague at the San Antonio Public Library and I have a YouTube channel where I do comedic playthroughs of classic adventure games.

I also, at the start of the pandemic last year, did a recording of Neil Gaiman’s short story, Shoggoth’s Old Peculiar, with the author’s permission, that he shared on Twitter.

I'll probably listen in at first, but I am recording a quick demo as per the instructions. I look forward to working with you all!

Hi Matthew

Welcome to Librivox.

As a "bad film" aficionado you would doubtless be familiar with the immortal works of Edward D. Wood, and also the movies starring the only and only Sonny Tufts (the favorite screen actor of Bulwinkle, from Rocky and Bulwinkle.)

At Librivox, we occasionally indulge in some "bad" literature, such as the novels of Amanda McKittrick Ros and the poetry of William McGonagall and Julia A Moore (The Sweet Singer of Michigan).

Julia Moore is a particular delight;

Have fun!
