Hi, there,
I tried searching "children's" and "folk" but there were so many options...is there a good way to find short fairy tales and folk tales? I love the old Russian and European folk and fairy stories (in English, ha) but I haven't figured out how to search well. Any ideas? This will be my first recording.

Hmm, I'm new to LibriVox, and folk & fairytales interest me, too -- I wonder if anyone else out there has an answer ...

and if I find it, I'll be sure to post it here!

Best!

If you go to the Home Page, and search "fairy tales" or "folk tales", it will take you to a list of completed projects as well as any projects in progress.

You can also go to the forum and browse through Readers Wanted, Short Works if you're looking for something to read.

Hope this helps.

I went to the Advanced Search link on the home page: https://librivox.org/search/advanced_search

Here's a search on in-progress group projects, under the genre "Children's Fiction > Myths, Legends, and Fairy Tales":
https://librivox.org/search?title=&author=&reader=&keywords=&genre_id=39&status=in_progress&project_type=group&recorded_language=&sort_order=catalog_date&search_page=1&search_form=advanced

And here is "Fantastic Fiction > Myths, Legends, and Fairy Tales" (the non-children's ones): https://librivox.org/search?title=&author=&reader=&keywords=&genre_id=11&status=in_progress&project_type=group&recorded_language=&sort_order=catalog_date&search_page=1&search_form=advanced

Unfortunately, it looks like they're all Fully Subscribed (meaning, fully claimed). But you could peek into them and see if any sections open up.
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart
