I’ve known about Librivox for years but am just now getting my courage up to actually volunteer to read.
I prefer reading a narrated text over plain reading OR listening without a text.
I’ve learned so many correct pronunciations that way which I would never have learned otherwise!
Also love hearing exotic accents or just foreign names being pronounced.
I’m a retired librarian with too much time on his hands and no sense of purpose.
I hope that joining this project will help remedy both.

Hello, Blaine, and welcome to LibriVox. I'm sorry about the long delay in answering your post.
Phil has made a video to introduce you to LibriVox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKLWam9cfVo&t=74s ... He's done many more videos, covering different aspects of the system, and you can always get help in the Need Help subforum, further down the main page of the forum.
It's a place for bibliophiles! .. and a friendly one.
I hope you'll enjoy your stay here.
Peter
