I'm Brian, I've just joined LibriVox and I am looking forward to getting involved once I found out how all that works. With my local amateur dramatics society I have recently recorded some of the scripts from the golden age of radio by using zoom meetings and then editing the files using Audacity. It's been a way to keep involved during lockdown.

I'm recently retired and live in Suffolk.

That's great that you already have experience with Audacity! You are already a step ahead.

Before you do any recording, you'll need to do is complete a 1-Minute Test. The instructions can be found HERE. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

After you've done that, the Short Works forum might be a good place to get your feet wet.
