Hello everyone! I am a stay-at-home mom to two kiddos. While reading books to them, I've repeatedly thought that I would love to do this "professionally." I have listened to LibriVox books for a couple years and was definitely intrigued about becoming a LibriVox reader. I'm making it a priority now and am so excited to have uploaded my one-minute test! You can check it out here: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_rikkigail2012.mp3 . I would love any advice. Thank you!

Oh dear, I cannot find where I'm checking that out so I will just comment in this thread. So this may be a duplicate.
Your voice is great and your technical specs are right on the button but your volume needs to be increased.
We aim at around 89 decibels and your test is at 83 decibels so it will need to be increased by about 5 decibels .

The best way to do this is to increase the gain inside of Audacity using the slider bar next to the little mic icon. Also omoving a bit closer to the microphone. So how do you know if your volume is OK? Use your eyes like this http://youtu.be/nNreCl3XCFE

So please make another test with more volume, call it TEST 2, upload and put the link in this thread so I will see it quickly. You are almost there!
