I'm Joshua and I make audiobooks. Full-time college student trying to figure out if I want to do psychiatry or clinical psychology. I plan on recording some philosophy texts and whatever else the community wants. I run an audiobook website so if anyone needs help setting something like that up let me know.

My gear:
Dell Latitude E7450 running elementary OS
HP VH240a 24" monitor
ATR2100x mic
Baseline Dell keyboard
Logitech G203 mouse

I use Audacity for recording but I wouldn't mind messing around with Mac OS at some point so I can use Adobe Audition. Want to know anything else? Ask me.

Nice to have you with us Joshua. You are certainly way ahead of most of us in tech knowledge. Are you interested in recording for LibriVox or giving some tech advice? We welcome both. Here is a welcome video I made explaing some basic things about us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwtn_2d3_qs&t=232s

Welcome again and ask if anything is confusing!! Oscar, our resident zombie says hi too Image

Thanks, Phil (mind if I call you Phil?). I can absolutely record and/or provide tech advice. If anyone uses Signal or encrypted email and would like to talk to me, drop me a PM and I'll give you my info. I have a Twitch account and wouldn't mind making some videos of me recording and editing on Audacity.

Haha my gear is fairly basic. elementary OS (Linux) makes almost any machine run smoothly and my mic was ~$100. I got my laptop from Notebooks for Students for ~$500. I'm super frugal and fortunately Audacity is a surprisingly good program for it being free. If anyone wants advice on setting up a cheap recording studio let me know.

Nice video. I'll take a look around the forums and get myself familiarized.
