Hello.

My name is Bailey, a.k.a Voodoo. I'm a college student who likes to read aloud(obviously). I want to build a portfolio for myself and am buying some equipment to hopefully step my feet into the world of audiobook reading. I'm from Texas but a lot of people think I have a good voice for reading.

I'm looking for any guidance and advice into technology, so that'd be really appreciated.

Thank you and I can't wait to get to work!

Hi Bailey and welcome to LibriVox. If you want a quick start to recording, here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90I3ymmcqSo&t=39s. We want you to have fun here so ask lots of questions. Of course read your welcome email and do your 1 minute test before recording. :D

I want to do a solo recording. I have not done the test but will later today. However I am still confused on what solo non fiction works are available to solo read. I read several threads but am still confused since many look claimed.

Anything in the public domain is available. Start in gutenberg https://www.gutenberg.org/ . Lots of non fiction stuff there.
