Hello,
College professor and bibliophile here. I do a lot of driving and love to have my old dear friends - my long time book loves - to bring along. I found you guys through Gutenberg's listing of Anne of Avonlea.
Thanks to you all who are doing this.
Is there any interest in recording other LMM book series?

Oh, and I would dearly love to read the Chronicles of Avonlea for you all. I know all about the "Read short bits first" but I do rather like to jump in at the deep end. Couldn't I try it if no one else is?

Welcome Sibella.
Of course you can jump in at the deep end. It's just that from experience we have found that new readers find it quite useful to record some short works for us first, such as the weekly poetry, or a chapter of a collaborative project. It helps them to get used to the technical aspects of the project and to our way of doing things here. There's lots of great information about how to record on our
Librivox Wiki. You can also check out the Newbie Guide to Recording.
You might also be interested in listening to a few episodes of our Librivox Community Podcast to get acquainted with some of the characters around here. Here is a link to the newest episode: http://www.archive.org/download/librivox_community/librivox_community_podcast_33.mp3
When you are ready to start a whole book, follow the directions in the Going Solo thread on how to start up a solo project.
Welcome, and I look forward to hearing your recordings.

I just volunteered to do the Federalist Papers. I do want to record the Chronicles, though.
Welcome! You can see all the LLM books we have right here:

Thanks, Starlight. The reason I offered to read the Chronicles is it's not on that list.
I would like to see some of her other books read; however, 1923 seems to be the magic number for copyright...

Don't worry if something's already been read. Multiple readings of anything is just fine around here (for loads of reasons.)Sibella wrote:Oh, and I would dearly love to read the Chronicles of Avonlea for you all.
