Hello everyone~
My name is Sophia and I am really excited to be part of the Librivox community. I currently live in Tokyo but studied in the States for college.
Audiobooks or podcasts have always been an important part of my life. I am constantly listening to something. As I grew older, I began to read to others. One of my best experiences was when I volunteered at a hospital, there I would read to the residents every week.
During college, I discovered LibriVox through Youtube while looking for audiobooks for Jane Austin's works. While at that time I was interested in participating, I was too shy to actually step forward, now I'm pushing myself to try more things.
I am completely new to the process of making audiobooks. While I have already checked out a lot of the info here on the forum, I think actually implementing what I've read will still be a challenge, but I am excited to try and learn!
Thanks for reading till the end~

Welcome to LibriVox Sophia! It is so nice of you to volunteer. At first some things may seem a bit confusing. Be patient; everything will clear up eventually. I've made a little video to welcome people and share a few things that I think are nice to know about us at the start of your adventure. Note, these are just my feelings. In any case ask lots of questions, we are a helpful bunch here and want VERY much for you to succeed. https://youtu.be/mwtn_2d3_qs
Disclaimer: LibriVox has been known to have side effects of joy, happiness and tons of good karma. Proceed with caution or wild abandon, your choice. Toy not included. Best if taken with lots of pasta.
