'allo, all!

My name is Alonza, and I'm so excited to be part of the LibriVox community!

I'm sort of new to audiobook culture, but I love theatre, music/als, and audiodrama, so I want to give this a shot.

Mini bio: I have an MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing and am looking for work in the publishing industry. Hobbies include knitting, science fiction, and aggressively supporting my friends.

Looking forward to getting to know and working with you--

Hi Alonza!

Welcome to LibriVox! We sound very similar. I also really love theater and audiobooks are on the newer side of things for me. Have you considered trying some of our plays/dramatic readings? No pressure at al but they are a fun way to get some of your theatrics onto recording :D. I used to knit too, but because of illness my knuckles have been bothering me.

Anyways, can't wait for you to join us! Once you get the OK on the one-minute test you can submit according to the instructions on your one minute email, you should be good to go1

Fantastic to meet you!

I'm still poking around the forums a bit, and think I'm most drawn to dramatic and short works for now. There's a play I enjoy in open readings (Every Man in His Humour), so I might dive in if there are still empty slots post mic-test.

Haha, we really are alike! I've also put my knitting on pause for a bit while I work through some nerve trouble. The lack of yarnbending is driving me batty.

Aww man sorry to hear about your nerve trouble, those nerves can be pesky things!

I'm excited to year you are interested in dramatic and short works, I tend to do more dramatic works, and they're a lot of fun! It's difficult but pleasing to attempt to convey emotion through only your voice, I'm used to having visuals to work with as well! Unfortunately the play you mentioned is already finished, but Every Man Out of His Humour still has a few openings - maybe you could check that out after your test!

Looking forwards to seeing you around!
