Hello everyone, my name is Kathryn. I recently came into a lot of free time and a hand-me-down microphone. I didn't have anything I wished to record for myself, so I thought I'd come here! Recording audio will be a new experience for me, and I'm looking forward to it.

Hand-me-down microphone sounds familiar. That's also what I used until recently. I can see you've alread put it to use recording the 1-minute test.
Now just wait for the feedback and once you've had the OK answer, you're free to record. Just go to the Readers Wanted areas of the forum, find a project you're interested in, read the first post, see what's available to record and post a message expressing interest.
