Hello All,
My name is Zach Watters and I am currently a teacher in San Antonio, Texas. Some friends suggested that I get into recording, and I had heard of Librivox, so here I am! I'm hoping to get started soon. I have a MacBook computer - does anyone have any suggestions for what microphones to get?

For starters, while you're figuring out whether you like it here, you could use the in-built mic and see how it works for your 1-minute test or a short recording, like the one in Weekly Poem. Once you've decided you like recording (and editing!) you could listen to this project: https://librivox.org/microphone-showdown-3-by-various/ which showcases recordings done with various setups. You may find something interesting there. YOu may also be interested in the conversations in the project thread itself:
