Hello all,
Namaste !

I am from Nepal living abroad who is eager to record some Nepalese literature in Librivox,. I am a newbie as my title said and would love to learn from the experienced bunch here. I record books in my free time with the little knowledge that I have of the audiobook recording world. It is more of a hobby and interest of mine to let people listen to books in audio format since so many people have limited time to read a book. I am a native Nepali language speaker but can speak in Hindi, Japanese and a light Spanish.

Thanks,
Abiskar

Hello Abiskar,

Welcome to LibriVox! We're so happy to have you.

To get started you need to record a one minute test. We do that to check our tech specs are correct. Once you get the PL Ok you can participate in Short projects like poems and so on. I'm sure you'll find interesting to record.

3 things I share in my welcome message are:
1) Checker Program. It checks all the tech specs of the recording.
2) Replay Gain (https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Measuring_Volume_within_Audacity). if you're using Audacity.
3) A wiki with all the Instructional Videos (https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos) that you'll need. You find more information on the one-minute test like finding and uploading it.

We're a friendly community so feel free to ask questions. Someone is sure to help you.
Thanks, SaraHale. :D
Constructive criticism is always welcome.
