Hi all - I'm a complete newbie to audiobook narration. I recently moved with my husband from Maryland to Ohio. I used to work in government finance (a hoot, I assure you). I'm working on transitioning to a new career and I'm excited to add narration to my journey! So far, I've auditioned for a handful of books on ACX. No takers yet, but I'm not giving up! I'm excited to soak up knowledge from volunteers on this forum
Hello Aline (supposing that is your name)
a warm welcome to our forum. I guess audiobook narration is a bit more fun than government finance, although I have no idea There can be excitement in everything.
A good idea is to start with a one-minute test to check your technical settings. Our setting-requirements at librivox are a bit different from ACX, so make sure you change them in your editing program before you upload the test in here: viewforum.php?f=21
Once you get the official OK, you can start participating in any project on offer here. We cater for all tastes: poems, fiction, non-fiction (probably even about government finance ), English, or any other language, and even drama. You'll be spoilt for choice.
Have fun on board.
