I'm Ryuken. I like playing video games, voice acting, and watching/reading mystery. I discovered LibriVox after listening to recordings of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on YouTube (I might try reading a little bit of that, who knows?). I have a Blue Yeti microphone that I haven't really used all year, and I want to put it to good use so it doesn't collect dust in my closet. I also want to get better at reading/talking in general. Finally, reading and recording books with other people sounds like fun.

I try to be a friendly face and don't try to boast too much (though it's hard not to boast about having played all 19 Zelda games, for example). I also really enjoy playing Kingdom Hearts and Ace Attorney, two games rich with story and mystery. For shows, I like watching Doctor Blake, Father Brown, and Cold Justice, mysteries I frequent regularly on Netflix. As for voice acting... I'm definitely not a professional, but I do enjoy messing around with my voice, voicing characters from books/comics, and telling a story.

Thanks for reading this, and I hope to get to work with you all and make some friends.

Hello Ryuken, welcome to our forum :)

from your introduction, I see we have a few things in common (although I by no means can boast about anything partaining to the Zelda kingdom). But I like playing online mystery adventures with a good story and some mind-challenging short games to solve.

I also record with a Blue Yeti and I really love my microphone :9: You are already very well equipped to start recording here. A good way to start it doing a one-minute test and posting it in a new thread here: viewforum.php?f=21 and someone will give you advice on it. It's to check that your technical settings are ok for LV standard. As soon as the test is ok'ed there is nothing holding you back from recording lots and lots. :9:

I can understand your love to "mess around with your voice", I love doing other characters as well. That's why I pretty soon got drawn into the drama subforum here: viewforum.php?f=27 I have a hunch I may hear you in there some day soon.

Well, good luck with your test and I hope you enjoy it here ! :) If there are questions still, don't hesitate to ask.

Sonia

Thanks! It's pretty sweet to run into someone with similar interests. I'll definitely be sure to check out the drama subforum after I get my test in. I'm curious, though: what games have you played in terms of mystery and mind-challengers?

I'm a registered member on a website which has a lot of these mystery adventures. I recently played European Mystery: Flowers of Death and Myths of the World: The Whispering Marsh, and Chimeras, the sign of the prophecy. All quite similar in their game, but they are interesting storylines and I love the great design as well. Beautiful images and scenery. Will soon start on a new one. :9: There's so many to choose from.

Good luck with your test and see you soon in some project or other.

Ooo, those sound interesting.
And thanks again. I posted my test in that thread, so hopefully all goes well.
