Hi, everyone

I'm Luni Pax and I am new to the community. I am a Brazilian translator living in Germany and I am happy to find a community like Librivox. Have been listening to the audiobooks all day long and hope I can contribute too!
Best to all,

Welcome, Luni Pax. I am curious how you found Librivox, if you'd care to share, and what kind of books you like to listen to. Brazil means you speak Portuguese, right?

Hi, Msfry

Nice to meet you!
Yes, I speak Brazilian Portuguese but I was raised bilingual. I found librivox on Youtube. I just listened to a book there and heard that we could volunteer to read the books, and I got interested. Found the idea fantastic! I am very into spirituality, theosophy, philosophy and so on. Those are the books I'm finding on Youtube. What about you? Where are you from? :D :D

I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA thanks for asking. Fisherman's Paradise, they call it. Cajun country. The capital city, about 100 miles from New Orleans, and home to Louisiana State University -- Geaux Tigers! But, my mother is a native of Paris, who married a WW II fighter pilot and moved to America, so I guess I'm the daughter of an immigrant, and a decorated war hero! My Dad hailed from New Jersey, Yankee ingenuity and all, but he moved the family down South when I was but 2 years old. So I am a strange cultural mix. Alas, try as she might, my Mom could never make me speak French to her, and as she spoke to my Dad and his 3 boys in English (they didn't speak French), I wouldn't let her treat me differently. My loss. Totally.

I like mostly serious stuff: history, speeches, treatises, letters, biographies, but also children's books, short stories, humor and poetry. Being mostly a free-thinker, I find pretty much everything fascinating. I love to read aloud, but find some writers are harder to interpret than others.

Yes, to my shock and amazement I have run across many of my solos on YouTube and I have no idea who is putting them there. I download all my podcasts to my iPhone via iTunes and I get read to sleep every night! HA HA! It's marvelous, and free!
