I am a long time audio-book listener and found Librivox some time ago when searching the Internet for additional sources of books.
I am a 56 year old man in the United States and I have a background in theater (High School) and writing (volunteer staff writer for the eZine "The Cynic").
I am a new podcaster (about 2 months) and I was motivated to consider reading for audiobooks when some recent listeners of my podcast called me "Audible Book Voice Guy" and then in their own podcast literally said "If you aren't reading audiobooks, get on that mate!" (they were in the UK- ).
I use Audacity to record my podcast and record on a Blue Snowball Ice with a pop screen. If you are interested, you may go listen to my podcast as an additional "audition". It is called "The Halfhill Report" and is available on iTunes, Stitcher, Podbean and Overcast". (I promise this wasn't a cheap way to plug my podcast - just pointing it out as a way for people to hear more of what I do).
Here is my 1-minute Test:
Thanks for listening!
