Hi everyone,

I am excited to be joining you here at LibriVox. Even though I love reading out loud, it feels a bit intimidating to know there's going to be a much larger audience listening in. But, after about 2 years mulling it over, I've decided I want to take the plunge and help bring to life some of the amazing works that are in the public domain. I wonder if our giving voice(s) to these works has helped people who have been hesitant to read some of them enjoy what they've been missing.

Has the middle English poem, Pearl, been recorded in its original? If not, I get dibs. :D

Hey, it's only you and the microphone! ;)

Does that mean you want to claim it, or provide it for a collection? Do that, no matter if its already recorded! LibriVox loves the choice of voice :)

I just searched for the middle English poem Pearl and found 2 recordings of modern English translations of the poem. So, do you mean if I could find the middle English version I could suggest it or post it to the launchpad? Which forum do you think would be best to post it on?

Thanks so much for pushing me out into the big, wide world of Librivox. And here I thought I would be more of a benchwarmer.

I had to google it :) It has roughly about 8600 words, so I think it will land, if you want to read it alone, in Going Solo. But you'll need to go to the Launchpad first. And as in a Solo you are your own BC, I'd suggest to record a short poem for one of the collections first, or to help in a group project so that you get familiar with the workflow here.
