Welcome!

Did you post an introduction before? I seem to remember someone had similar language abilities, but now I can't find that thread. :hmm:

Well, anyway, good to have you here. I'm not sure we have any projects running in Telugu and Hindi - it's hard to find readers and proof-listeners for group projects in languages other than maybe the top 3 or 4 in Europe. But you're welcome to join in one of the multilingual collections, if you want to record in them, and once you get your recording legs under you, you're definitely welcome to try your hand at a solo in one or both. The trick would be to find a public domain text source, which generally means something published in 1922 or earlier.

Post if you have any questions. :) Good to have you!

Thanks Tricia!
This is my first time posting here.
I too saw some other members with similar language abilities, if not here, in other topics/threads.
In addition to books published before 1922, there may be some books that are in public domain, albeit recently published!
I was seeing them in digital libraries, archive.org etc. Do you have any additional tips to identify/recognize such publications?
Raj.

Keep in mind that people can upload items to Archive and SAY it's out of copyright, but it may not be. Especially for works published outside of the USA, it's very difficult to determine copyright status, and we err on the side of caution.

In general, we work on projects that are:
- 1922 or earlier;
- determined by gutenberg.org or hathitrust.org to be public domain in the USA. They have lawyers that look into things, so we trust their judgment;
- government works, such as governmental reports.

If you have something specific in mind, post about it over in Book Suggestions, with a link to the text, and we can check it out.

Good.
Hathitrust too has many books to look into. Many published in 1800's.
Anyway, you are right. We don't want to have any legal problems or any disturbances.
