Hello. I'm going to start doing readings. I've been a listener of audiobooks for quite a while. I like to visualize and create a sort of mental film when listening to audiobooks. I also enjoy reading books in the genres of philosophy, poetry, history, and short stories, just to name a few. Enjoy! Jay Lenhert

Did you originally sign up last year? Your start date under your forum name is 2016. When I first came, I registered in the forum and didn't post for a couple months, but I think this is the longest lag I've seen.

We urge you to make a "1 Minute Test" for review before you start actively recording. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc. You will find the information for the 1-Minute Test Recording here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. The instructions also tell you how to upload your test and then post in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum so someone can give you feedback on it.

If you like to read, the first thing to do is the 1-minute-test.

How to record also depends on the setup you have. The folks in the listeners wanted section help you through if you're stuck

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out where the mp3 url and the other url is so I can send my first recording.
Transfer of files (completed recordings) Please always post in this forum thread when you've sent a file. Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.

Did you upload the file? It'll show a status bar while you're uploading, and then the status bar will turn into a URL. Copy and paste that into the project thread.

That's the only link you have to provide. Then also post the file length, as described.

Yes, now I sent the URL as a 1 minute test since I wasn't sure who the MC is originally.

Do you have to get approved by the "MC" before you do your recording or jsut send and see if they like your reading?

Just wait till your test is OKed - you don't want to have to redo a real reading because of some easily fixed technical thing.
