I’m Katherine, but my forum name and the name I want associated with my recordings is 1Kat. I’ve been a listener for a few years and I want to start reading. I have a microphone/headphones head set, but I will need to wait till I have a better internet connection for my computer before I get the audacity recording software (doing the forum on my phone). I’ll do a 1 minute test once I have it. Sometimes sometimes reading silently is nice, but I really like hearing literature much better than seeing it. I’ve already asked for a small section in one book. It is a short letter, so I think it will be a good length to start with. Do you folks generally find googling to be a satisfactory method for resolving pronunciation uncertainties?

I usually go to one of the dictionaries if I don't know how to pronounce a word.
