Hello Everyone,
Just registered and looking forward to getting started with LibriVox.
A little about myself. My entire working life has been based on verbal communication. Brought up in West Yorkshire, my parents and teachers strived to instil in me a reasonable knowledge of grammar whilst remaining true to my Yorkshire roots.
Joining the army as a sixteen year old, I was quickly exposed to a wide range of accents and vocal styles and learned how to interact with their owners.
Upon leaving the army, I undertook a long career in sales, honing my communication skills. Latterly I have specialised in telephone-based work where it is imperative to use good oration to win in an extremely competitive environment – my distinctive vocal style has played a large part in my success.
My fondness for travel and meeting new people has further enhanced my love of the spoken language. And I now enjoying transferring my skills and experience to VO work.
