Newbie here
Hi, all! My name is Sarah, from southern Illinois. I just joined last night. Have been interested in recording audiobooks for a long time. My brother is blind and have listened to tons of his books. I downloaded Audacity yesterday and in the process of doing my 1 minute test. Can't wait to join in the fun.

You are heading in the right direction with your one minute test
When you start, it is best to read a chapter or two of established projects, but once you are familiar with the site and the process, you can branch out to any Public Domain text that interests you.
Poetry is also a popular launch point (see the Short Works forum, dropdown menu at the bottom of the page).
