Incoming Newbie!

Hello, I'm Izzie. I'm an aspiring music producer. I joined LV because one of my pations aside from music is books, specially the audio variety. I feel like the book in a sense has more life to it in audio. I'm legally blind so I use a screen reader to read books to me when audio isn't an option, and the text to speech voices, whilst good, do get kind of robotic in how they read. They have definitely come a long way however, so its not too much of an issue (for some) as it used to be in past. Personally, I got used to all the robotics, and just imagined the characters voices as being different, as the reader took me on an adventure. I look forward to reading along side all of you soon.

Hi Izzie and welcome
Hi and welcome.
The best starting point is submitting a one minute test and the team there will guide you on getting your setup right. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test There is no need for an expensive mic... a decent USB mic can be bought for about $20 on Amazon. Of course, you can pay a lot more for a better one, but best to see if you enjoy recording before forking out

When you start, it is best to read a chapter or two of established projects, but once you are familiar with the site and the process, you can branch out to any Public Domain text that interests you.
