New and happy to be here

I look forward to joining the community. I teach at South Georgia State College. Right now we are anticipating the arrival of Hurricane Irma. But the prospect of audio narrating a public domain book is a nice distraction as I see this community as a real service to varieties of people who love to "read" by listening. I am an historian by trade and primarily like reading history books. Nice to be here.

Hi, Carolin:

I have submitted a Ten-Minute test file and have requested to read a chapter of a book by Henry Cabot Lodge. I am awaiting the reply of the coordinator of the chapters of that book. I am going to be looking to see how it is possible--if it is possible-to suggest a public domain book that is not on the list, that I might want to read. I am not sure if this is permissible, or if you must choose books up for grabs on the forum. Thanks,

Rick

Welcome, Rick. I read books in the history of science, since I'm an M.Sci. geographer. I just finished "Mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada" which includes chapters on the history of California and plotting the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. Let me know what your projects are, or friend me in here! Good luck!

Thanks for your greeting! I look forward to sharing ideas about new audio book prospects as these occur to me.
