Hello, everyone, I'm very eager to be a part of this massive project. I've taken advantage of LV for several years now, having listened to countless hours of your labor on long road trips. I did record for LV a number of years ago, but fell short of availability and am starting anew - it doesn't appear that much has changed in terms of function or need for volunteers, yet despite the insane amount of works that have been completed, the list continues to grow of those that need attention. I love listening, and I love how volunteering for works also introduces me to new authors and ideas that I would have otherwise passed by. It will be a pleasure to work with all of you.

Hi and welcome.
As you haven't recorded for a while, it would probably serve you well to begin as a "newbie". The best starting point is submitting a one minute test and the team there will guide you on getting your setup right. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test There is no need for an expensive mic... a decent USB mic can be bought for about $20 on Amazon. Of course, you can pay a lot more for a better one, but best to see if you enjoy recording before forking out :D

When you start, it is best to read a chapter or two of established projects, but once you are familiar with the site and the process, you can branch out to any Public Domain text that interests you.

You say you don't notice any changes in the site: it depends when you were here before. We had a big system upgrade in 2013, and, although not perfect, it is much more user-friendly. Feel free to ask questions if anything doesn't make sense.
