I am very pleased to start volunteering with Librivox. My name is Isabel and allow me to tell you how I discovered your services: It was 2006, when I first arrived to USA to start my undergraduate studies and I was learning English as a second language since my mother tongue is Spanish. I found very important to read classical literature. I am interested in becoming part of your community since I feel a deep and loving connection with literature. Also, for me is a way to expand this type of reading to other people who are living in a disadvantaged situation. I also want to keep in touch with my Spanish speaking skills. I am a bilingual mother of three children who always wanted to become a writer though I did not have the chance nor the resources to follow my dreams. At this time, I al also trying to start my career as Spanish/English translator.

Hello, Isabel. Nice to meet you. And welcome to Librivox. OMG! We have so much in common. I am bilingual. And I used to be a freelance translator. My college friend recommend Librivox to me when I was in my third or fourth year in college. I am so looking forward to your first recording. Feel free to ask me anything. Maybe I can help you.
