Hey Dragon,

Welcome to librivox!

I wish we could record and release Tolkien's works, but alas, thay're not in the public domain. My whole family is obsessed with Tolkien, and I've recorded the Hobbit, and most of LotR for my son to listen to -- but I can't release them to the public. Bummer, huh?

Maybe there's something else you'd like to read for us :)

Great! Stephan is in Germany so he's probably asleep, but I'm sure he'll let you know tomorrow :)

Welcome Dragon! Believe me, you're not the only Tolkien fan counting the days till we can tackle it, but I'm glad to see that you are joining in with some other projects in the meantime!

If its the fantastical realm you fancy, check out Edgar Rice Burroughs Barsoom Series (In the Next Books section). Of course it has NOTHING in common with LotR --- but its fantasticalness. 8)
