Hello all,
When I was little my mom used to read me bedtime stories, and before I could read she read books to me and my brother. Once she taped it and I liked to listen to the tape. In the tape I merely repeated what my mother read, I couldn't read yet. The reading session were filled with me stumbling over some words that I had some difficulties pronouncing, me and my brother fighting, or a cat that came along while we were reading.
The first audio book I downloaded from LibriVox was Pride and Prejudice. I saw the movie before I read the book (or listen to the book ) so I was surprised :o because the book was read in American English. I was expecting to hear people speaking in British accent. But that way the book was easier for me to listen because I am more familiar with American English. When I watched the movie I couldn't comprehend what the characters were saying because of the strong British accent so I had to rewind some scenes.
