Hello, My name is Nick and I'm a retired software engineer from New Hampshire, USA. I have lots of free time, and I love reading and audiobooks, so I thought I'd take a stab at reading for LibriVox. I've never performed anything for the public before, so this is a new experience and I'm looking forward to it, and expect to totally enjoy it. :)

Hello Nick san,

Welcome to LibriVox. I hope you enjoy it here.
I also read your post at 'Listeners & Editors wanted'.
So you're using Ubuntu 12.10. I suppose you'll soon move to 13.04.
I'm now using 12.04 as 12.10 causes a problem with USB mic. I hope it will be better in 13.04.

As you got through one minute test, my advice is Weekly Poetry. You can improve your recording skill.
You need to pay attention at ID3 tags. It should be V2.3 instead of V2.4. Linux Audacity gives V2.4 tags.

Cheers,
Masa

Welcome to LibriVox, Nick! We're glad to have you! :D
Between being a full-time college student and working 20+ hours per week, I'm not able to be involved at LV these days, but I remain a loyal fan and look forward to a triumphant return sometime in the (probably distant) future.
