Hi all,

I'm a newbie from New Mexico. I found LibriVox recently when looking up some old books at the Gutenberg Project, and I really enjoyed listening. It's a wonderful resource and sounds like it will be fun to take part. I'm already checking out the how-to guides, but one thing that I'm wondering is how quickly new books tend to get snapped up. Should I try for anything that appeals even a little, or wait for (or suggest) a project that I really love?

Welcome to LibriVox
you asked how long it takes books to be claimed - it is really like how long is a bit of string . It does depend on the book - how long it is , how hard the chapters are, how long the chapters are , how well known the book and author are, and who is looking for chapters at the time. If there is a project that you really really want to be part of , you can make a claim and tell the BC you will need to do your test first and they are usually happy about that . But new books come along all the time :D About 3 a day I think most of the time :D
